Oktoberfest  & St.Jacobs Village Farmers Market

In Kitchener-Waterloo, Oktoberfest was not established by royal decree, but with a noble motive just the same. In 1969, the founding fathers of the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest saw this Bavarian tradition celebrated at the famous Concordia Club in Kitchener as an excellent opportunity to benefit the entire community by becoming a civic festival that celebrated our local German Canadian heritage.

Start with a visit to St.Jacobs' popular Market with lots of outside stalls selling fresh Veggies, Fruits and Flowers, and inside vendors with Meats and Baked Goods. There is also the option of the Factory Outlet Stores, just across from the Market. Out next stop is in the village of St. Jacobs for shopping and browsing on the charming Main Street. Also visit Famous University of Waterloo.
